With spectacular views of the harbor and downtown San Diego, we wanted to create a kitchen space that captured the ever-changing scenery of the water, skyline, and sunset. This downtown condo needed a facelift to match its prime location. With an abundance of natural light and blue water from every vantage point, we wanted the finishes that were selected to have a correlation to the view.
The striking backsplash in the kitchen is a dynamic mosaic in cascading shades of blue and acts as the feature wall in the kitchen. We implemented a custom a 1 ½” inch thick glass tabletop with a unique wave-like texture that was imported from abroad, which proved to be a challenge in its appearance to float.
The Cambria countertops have hues of coastal blues and gray, which pop against the rich brown cabinetry. Small sections of open shelving allow for an inviting yet clean-lined approach for the clients to showcase their collectibles from traveling.
The bathroom continues to emulate a view of water by incorporating an entire feature wall in textured wave tile, with an addition of full height glass tiles in hues of blue behind the vanity.
The master bedroom exhibits a striking shade of blue as a focal point with custom floating shelves. The bedroom takes full advantage of impressive views of Coronado while now being a comfortable and luxurious retreat. This whole house remodel is a relaxing yet striking palette which is now visually aligned with the mother nature’s majestic ocean and skyline beyond.
