He cautions homeowners to avoid the disconnect that frequently happens when clients go to an architect for design drawings then have a different builder handle the construction.

Marrokal Named NARI 2015 National CotY Winner! |
We reported in the March issue of the Marrokal Messenger that Marrokal Design and Remodeling had been awarded a prestigious Regional CotY (Contractor of the Year) Award for four projects. We just learned that one of those projects, shown below, has also been named the National Winner in the category of Residential Addition Over $250,000. Discard Fireplace Ashes Safely
For those who use indoor or outdoor fire places, please remember to let ashes cool completely before disposing of them. Too many tragedies have happened as a result of smoldering ashes re-igniting and burning the home.
"I put my fireplace ashes in a paper bag and let them sit on a concrete area outside for a few days more before including them with the trash. With the fire dangers we live with here in southern California, it is especially important to be hyper-vigilant about fire safety," says Gary Marrokal, President of Marrokal Design and Remodeling. |
